Focus & Leaders

At Focus we have a fun-packed schedule filled with a variety of small and large group activities based around a theme. The set up for the week looks something like this...

An original welcome and fun activity in the afternoon on arrival, followed by a BBQ tea and an introductory evening meeting involving worship and a message relating to the theme. Each day follows a similar pattern of a short group bible study/small group after breakfast with team leaders looking at the message for the day (based on a bible verse) followed by a morning meeting exploring this through worship, games and a message. In the afternoon there are different fun activities to get involved with, workshops where your child can try their hand at a new skill, plus some free time to hang out with their friends and enjoy the facilities at Quinta, including a heated swimming pool. After tea we come together for an evening meeting in which we have a worship time and look a little closer at the message for that day. One evening (weather permitting) there is also a campfire, which is an annual highlight for all involved.

There are plenty of opportunities for the children to talk and pray with their group leaders as well as others in the group; both the small and large group settings are designed to encourage children to step into something new in God in a safe and positive environment. God is in the centre of all we do, including the fun activities, workshops in music, drama, sport etc. and in the entertainment such as competitions, games and quizzes. We model to the children that God is for them, close to them and wants to speak to them during Focus and throughout their lives; we also aim to bring a 'bigger picture' on the final night as we focus on sending them back out to be God's light in their own lives.

At Focus, we welcome children from all over the country and from a variety of different church backgrounds. We encourage children to invite their friends to come along, but have also seen over the years friendships develop which pass the test of both time and distance. Our heart is that everyone who come to Focus would feel a part of our big and beautiful 'Focus Family'; a family who look out for, care for, and grow with one another.

As we prepare for Focus we are praying over the children who come and count it an amazing privilege to serve and bless them through what we do. We understand that you may have reservations or concerns about your child coming to Focus or spending time away from home so please do not hesitate to contact us!

For teams/children’s ministries – youth leaders/children’s workers have come to Focus as a team with their teens or children and is something we welcome, providing leaders fit the specified criteria. Please see our Adult Leader page if you are interested.
